My first question was going to be: What are optimal dimensions for regular posts’ featured images?
But when i tested adding a large featured image (1600px in width, less in height) to a post, I found that the featured image displays on the blog index page, but not on the single post page. Why am I not seeing the featured image on the single post page?
I apologize for the late reply.
Thanks for using our Hello! Pro theme!
We made the decision to not show the Featured Image on the Single Post pages because we received feedback from users that they didn’t want the featured image repeatedly shown there, and would rather add the image inside the content of the Post.
If you would like to add the Featured Image into the Single Post pages, simply add this code to your /lib/theme-setup.php file:
To set which Featured Image size is used for the Blog Archive page, go to:
Genesis > Theme Settings
… then scroll down to the “Content Archives” section.
Here you will see the options for the Featured Image: whether to show, what size, and the Alignment within the text content.
I hope this answers your questions.
Good luck using Hello! Pro!
Hi again Alex, Thanks so much for explaining how featured images work in Hello Pro 2. I understand now that this is how the theme is set up to work – and I may just go with this. Nevertheless, I really appreciate your providing the theme-setup.php code, in case I would like to explore this a bit further.
